I was fortunate enough to be invited to PHX Fashion Week's "Shop the Garment District" Event held at the beautiful Hotel Valley Ho in Old Town Scottsdale this last Friday. It was such a fun evening getting a chance to see the upcoming designers and their amazing pieces.
I definitely ventured out of my comfort zone and wore lots of bright colors! I loved the combination of this bright red dress paired with a blue clutch and my favorite Shine Project turquoise bracelet.
I have always considered myself a "closeted fashionista". I'm lucky to have been raised by a fashionable mother, who always indulged in buying me issues of Vogue at the grocery store, watching the red carpet in awe of the gowns, and countless hours of shopping when I was a finicky teenager. I say closeted because I've never desired to be a model, or designer. I simply love fashion, in particular, seeing the creative process. It was a real treat to attend just that at this event.
In addition to being able to shop some of the pieces, we were treated to a runway show featuring 4 pieces from each designer. We also had the opportunity to vote for the 2014 Designer and Model of the year. I have to give a round of applause to PHX Fashion Week for hosting such a fun event. I feel lucky to have been in attendance.
I had a few favorite pieces, but my absolute favorite collection was Hues of Ego. I love the soft neutral whites paired with the utilitarian buckles. Very on point for the summer. I basically want this entire collection in my closet.
Another favorite designer of mine was Rayan. I love their gowns and how wearable they are.
Here are a few more snippets of some other pieces I really enjoyed!
